Virtual Open Studio – Art Journal Techniques: The Moon’

Join us for February’s Virtual Open Studio & mini lesson, where we’ll explore the magic and mystery of the moon inside your art journal.

Mini Technique Lesson: Painting the Moon in Your Art Journal 🌕
We’ll begin with a series of short, guided mini demos focused on different techniques you can use to create expressive and luminous moons. You’ll learn how to experiment with:

• wet-on-wet blending for soft, glowing moons
• layering & glazing to build depth and atmosphere
• dry brushing & stippling for texture and surface detail
• creating a subtle halo or moon glow
• optional: using a gelli press to create a unique moon texture

After the mini demos, you’ll move into Open Studio time, where you can:
🎨 create one moon or a series of different moons in your art journal
🌙 experiment with multiple techniques and styles
🖼️ apply the techniques to a canvas
✨ or work on a personal project of your choice

This session is designed to be relaxed, inspiring, and playful—perfect for exploration, experimentation, and creative flow.
